Total Recall: All Clear

Noya continues his fascination with maximal extremes and the improbable by using AI in his work for its errors, imperfections, and its ability to amplify mutations until they reach absurdity. This preference for manglecore – the antithesis of the Midjourney aesthetic – gave birth to Total Recall: a melding of Cronenberg, Mapplethorpe, and Rammstein.

Instead of using an amalgamation of unknown synthetic people or a smattering of celebrities, Noya explores the extreme expression of the ultimate cultural icon and male sex symbol, Hollywood’s very own Übermensch: Tom Cruise. Tom’s face and the implicit edges of his varied public persona were ultimately the perfect conduit for the ultimate fashion-inspired-erotic-narcisistic-impossible-bodies post-photography series.

Each artwork in this series has an accompanying polaroid original that was ‘shot’ onto Polaroid 600 film and signed on reverse by Noya. They can be redeemed on ArtFora and will be delivered for free in a simple self-standing frameless holder.
