KEVIN ESHERICK
The Artist Is Absent
On View at 300 Broome | February 11 - March 14
Kevin Esherick’s solo exhibition ‘The Artist Is Absent’ is now on view at 300 Broome in NYC’s Lower East Side through March 14.
This exhibition asks how technology stands to reshape the roles of authorship and authenticity in our society, in art-making and beyond. Specifically, it marks a pivotal moment in Esherick’s practice: after training AI systems on his own writing and artistic output, Esherick has handed over all art-making to the machine for the next year.
The works currently on view – Ablation Studies and Homages – are the final projects conceived entirely by the artist before this transition.
We invite you to experience the exhibition in person.
On view: February 11 – March 14
Location: 300 Broome Street, Lower East Side, NYC
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 11am – 7pm
View the exhibition above and catalog below.
We look forward to welcoming you.
