First Look: Heft's 2026 Exhibition Schedule

Join us for a new year at Heft
This coming year presents a lineup of artists investigating the possibilities of systems-based art practices. The 2026 program will feature solo exhibitions by Kevin Esherick, Nancy Burson, Ksawery Komputery, Auriea Harvey, Ashley Zelinksie, along with one unannounced artist, each who are at the forefront of this movement.
What binds the artists in this program is not their medium or technical approach, but their curiosity towards the systems that govern our reality: generating unforeseen visual concepts using the constraints of rules, logic, structure, or code.
The program spans mediums, with a strong emphasis on material curiosity – from marble sculptures and oil paintings to large-scale LED installations and digitally native work. Building upon the foundation of shows like Groundwork or Truth or, this year’s program seeks out artworks made with, and addressing, the ubiquitous systems of contemporary life.
Kevin Esherick’s solo exhibition, The Artist is Absent, is currently on view in the gallery through March 14. Following this, a solo exhibition by Nancy Burson will open on March 21, continuing our exploration of systems-driven artistic inquiry into the coming year.
In addition to our program, the Heft Store will soon be filled with books, art making devices, generative apparel and art objects, and more. Our back-room salon will continue to serve as an extension of our community, a space where artists, collectors, and enthusiasts can meet in the process of making and finding art. Expect surprises (both digital and in-person) that open up new ways for you to engage with these works.
Our events program is also expanding, featuring more performances, dinners, Conversations, and the other evenings that make the gallery a gathering place for the movements shaping the present moment.
