Introducing: a New Take on Commissions
Art made using systems processes presents new opportunities for deeper input on artworks customized from collector input – interactive portrait sessions with Luke Shannon or Nancy Burson, specific selections from infinitely generating algorithms created by Michael Kozlowski or Jan Robert Leegte, and simply the opportunity to get a newly made work by a master of light and code like Zach Lieberman.
Whether commissioning a single piece for a personal collection or in multiples for a shared environment, their unique personalization does not change our typical range of pricing accessibility.
Below are details about some of these artists’ new commission opportunities – contact us for inquiries.
Replacement Character
by Luke Shannon
Full-scale archival pigment print, signed on verso + digital artwork with Ethereum token
Luke Shannon’s Replacement Character continues its Commission series at Heft. As the collection expands from Shannon’s self-portraits to include these unique works, the series furthers its exploration of visibility through age, object, clothing, or figuration.
Commissioned pieces are created between you and the artist, featuring the subject of your choice: yourself, a person or people from your life, objects and artifacts, etcetera.
Shannon will be hosting another commission session soon. Reach out in reply to this email or in DM to book yours.

Light Line Study #2 (Circle), 2025
by Zach Lieberman
Light Studies (Circles)
by Zach Lieberman
48” circular archival pigment print, face mounted to museum acrylic, back mounted and cleated, signed on verso + digital artwork with Ethereum token
Zach Lieberman seeks algorithmic images that have a sense of illumination, where the poetry of that light is expressed through color, rhythm, and form. He says, "I often see something on the sidewalk, like sunlight reflecting off a shiny surface, and wonder how to code that. At night, I look at a car's headlights coming towards me and see rays of light, almost like a prism. I see these things and wonder how to communicate them through my work. At the same time, my work changes the way I see. I explore algorithms of light and reflection via code and I start to see the world differently."
Only four Circle (tondo) works have been created and sold, each in a unique variation of Lieberman’s Light Line and Light Spot Studies in a 48” diameter circular format. Reply to this email or DM us on X or Instagram to requests a new unique piece.
Tessellations
by Michael Kozlowski
Copper or bronze coated resin relief, framed in walnut or white oak hardwood with museum glass + generative art Ethereum NFT
The processes in Tesselations’ algorithm (tiling, recursion, subdivision) consciously parallel the design practices of medieval craftsmen and architects, who developed rule-based geometric methods long before computation became electronic.
Each wall hung sculptural relief in this series begins as a unique tessellated pattern generated by the algorithm, now chosen by the collector – which is then 3D printed, metal plated, and framed in hard wood.
Commissions available. Reach out to inquire.
